A retail source for Canadians has been on my radar since I moved to Canada in 2017. I moved to Canada from a suburb outside of Chicago and found shopping to be hard work and expensive!
I majored in Accounting and Finance in my undergrad and I’m currently working on my MBA-wish me luck! Saving money has always been a top priority for me; my mom and I love finding the best deals when we shop. Growing up, we enjoyed shocking my dad with how much we saved, which was typically met with ‘Imagine how much you would’ve saved if you didn’t go shopping….’ sigh, my dad is such a dad.
When 2020 hit, I realized how difficult it was to find small businesses. My boyfriend was starting his own ‘side hustle’ along with so many other Canadians and I missed browsing local markets and finding one of a kind gems for myself and for gift giving. Searching Etsy and the Amazon Handmade section were not cutting it for me. I slowly began to find small business through Instagram and made personal connections with the *most amazing* business owners. Canada Finds shines a light on small businesses, weekly sales, landmarks, and yes, donuts. I am so glad you are here and I hope you find something you love.
