Assortment of Toast Products

No, this post isn’t about avocado toast! 🙂 Toast Naturals is a brand you can feel good about using; their products are vegan and sustainable. I realize sustainable can be thrown around a bit, but everything starting from the idea for the product to the packaging are sustainable. The owner, Jo, intentionally creates each product with the environment in mind.

Toast DIY Candle Kit

Jo sent me her DIY candle kit and I was BLOWN AWAY! I’m personally not very successful with Pinterest DIY projects, but the candle kit seemed too easy to mess up! You simply melt the wax in your microwave and pour into your desired vessel. I might be a *slight* hoarder as I had the perfect vessel I was waiting to repurpose; I never dreamed it would be a candle again. It might sound silly, but I felt PROUD to make my own candle, even though Jo and my microwave did most of the work!

I loved the DIY candle kit so much, I purchased one for my brother’s girlfriend’s birthday (that’s a bit hard to follow, but you don’t want to screw up the gift of someone that isn’t married into the family yet). She was so happy with the candle kit, too! It makes a great gift and is more thoughtful than just sending a premade candle. Our family has enjoyed gifting experiences, but the pandemic has made that a bit more difficult; the candle kit is the PERFECT solution.

While we’re talking about candles…if you’re a Friends fan, I cannot recommend the Perk candle enough. I’m still devastated Netflix removed Friends, but the Perk candle transports me to a certain New York coffee shop. Jo thoughtfully selected stylish amber glass for her candles, so they can be reused. I plan to reuse my empty candle for storage in my bathroom; my hair ties ALWAYS go missing, storing them in the empty candle will be a stylish, environmentally-friendly solution.

Gosh, I’ve tried so many of Jo’s products-I love her face oil, as well. If you follow me on the gram, you know how dry it is in Alberta. My morning routine includes Toast’s just oil face oil and a gua sha massager. It’s basically like face yoga and my face stays hydrated all day, without a heavy, greasy feel.

Jo recently reformulated her lip balm and (again with the dry climate) I love it. The mint flavour is subtle and doesn’t leave my lips tingling or burning; the balm provides a nice shine. I haven’t mentioned how cute her packaging is, but it is such a fun pop of colour against my neutral décor. If you order her products to be mailed, they will be packaged with biodegradable packing peanuts; which dissolve underwater *mind blown*.

Taking a bath is one of my favourite ways to self-care. Jo’s bath salts make the bath experience so relaxing and enjoyable. The scent is so lovely and of course the packaging is recyclable. The bath salts come with a scoop, so you don’t end up pouring *all* the salts into your tub (I’ve been there).

It’s going to sound ridiculous, but if you’ve had a bad experience with hand sanitizer this past year or so, you’ll know exactly what I mean. You know the hand sanitizer that is gloopy (yep, that’s a word) and does not dry and is just there on your hands? Well! This hand sanitizer is the complete opposite! First of all, the scent doesn’t smell like the alcohol at a frat party-instead, it smells like a mimosa! The bottle is nice to look at and the sanitizer itself dries nicely. Do yourself a favour and make the switch, you will not regret it.

If you’ve tried Toast or you plan to try, let me know in the comments which products you love or want to try.
